An engineering company that grew up with AI
RedBlackTree is a Chennai engineering company of about 80 people. Since 2005 we've built software for global enterprises and startups, and we still do. Today we also put AI agents into production for Indian enterprises, on Methodical, the platform we incubated for exactly that.

Our story
Two decades of building platforms from concept, leading to agentic systems in production today.
2005
Operations begin in Chennai
We begin operations with our first client, building a US homecare platform from concept. Over more than eleven years and three acquisitions it grows to serve 2M+ patients, and we transfer the team to its final owner.
2011
Dispute resolution platform
We build an online dispute resolution platform for a Bay Area startup, later acquired.
2012
Silicon Valley fintech
We build the first platform for a Silicon Valley fintech with its solo founder, sharing early risk for a later payoff.
2013
US multinational partnership
Our engineers join a US multinational's own development teams, a partnership that's still going.
2014
Global cruise line operations
We start building software for a global cruise line, including the cruise-planning system at the heart of its operations.
2019
Family finance at scale
We lead product and engineering for a US telecom operator's family debit card, which reaches 5 million users.
Recent years
Product engineering & team transfer
We build entire products for a US software company and a UK AI accounting startup, then transfer the teams to their own setups in India.
Today
Applied AI & RedBlackTree Labs
We put AI agents into production for Indian enterprises, and incubate products like Methodical in RedBlackTree Labs.

Our clients stay because our people stay
Our employee retention has always been well above the Indian IT industry's, and some of our engineers have been with us for 10 to 14 years, which is rare for a company our size. When people stay, the knowledge of a client's business, processes and systems stays with the team that built them. That's why some of our client relationships go back more than a decade.
Going the extra yard
We join a client's call at 10 pm India time when their US team is in a crisis, turn critical hotfixes around immediately, and run a 24x7 helpdesk for users around the world. We measure our work by our clients' outcomes, not by hours billed.

The name story
A red-black tree is a data structure that rebalances itself as it grows, so lookups stay fast however much data you add. We build systems the same way.
The logo story
Our logo is a tree drawn from strands that cross over and under without breaking. Engineers will spot both ideas: a tree, the structure our name comes from, and a schematic crossover, where lines pass through each other and connect only where they're meant to. It's how we think about integrating systems.
